Flexcin CEO, Tamer Elsafy, with Tiny & Tux
As FlexPet’s Chief Canine Officer, I am so excited to announce that in June my dad and I will be making our way to the Natural Marketplace 2010 showcase in Las Vegas. We will demonstrate to natural food retailers just how much FlexPet with CM8 has helped me overcome joint pain and a once unbearable way of life. The event will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center and lots of natural food store managers will attend to learn about what is new and most effective in the world of natural supplements. Throughout Natural Marketplace 2010, Flexcin will be illustrating the benefits of retailers adding FlexPet to their mix of healthy offerings since consumer spending on pet products continues to rise.
I’ve become pretty savvy surfing the web and I hear that the overall market for pet spending is expected to jump to $70 billion in 2014, up from roughly $53 billion today, according to consumer good researcher, Companies and Markets. Wow that’s a lot! My dad and I believe health product retailers would be wise to add all-natural pet products and supplements to their menu of offerings to take advantage of this continued increase in pet spending.
Natural health retailers already carry Flexcin vitamins and supplements because their customers seek better alternatives to traditional medicine which can be expensive and frustrating. Since many of these customers wish to provide their pets with healthier alternatives that lead to an all-natural diet and lifestyle as well, we hope to work with more stores nationwide to make it easy for pet owners to pick up some FlexPet while shopping for human vitamins.
Research shows that many dog lovers want an alternative to prescription drugs to help their pets that are suffering from arthritis. FlexPet has proven to be safe and reliable since it is made with the patented formula CM8TM. It is clinically proven to promote optimal joint health in dogs and cats by helping to stimulate the lubricating fluid in the joints, support stronger cartilage and increase total mobility.

Tiny on the road
While holding the position of Chief Canine Officer, I have learned a lot about my fellow pet friends and their humans. Luckily our loving owners know when we are not quite feeling up to par. And it has become clear that our human friends are looking out for our best interests by turning to all-natural supplements like FlexPet to treat our pain. If it weren’t for FlexPet, I would not be able to go on walks with my family. Instead I would become that lazy old dog that none of us look forward to becoming.
So I am inviting you to spread the word to all your friends and local health food store owners that FlexPet is making its way to more health stores nationwide. Tell them to stop by our booth at the Natural Marketplace 2010 to learn more about my tasty and effective supplement, FlexPet with CM8.
Thanks,
Tiny the Dog
FlexPet Chief Canine Officer

As we near the end of October there is more to think about than which costume Fido will wear this Halloween. The month of October is National Pet Wellness Month. It’s set aside to focus on educating pet owners about wellness examinations, disease prevention, and pet health insurance.
Sponsored by the American Veterinary Medical Association , Fort Dodge Animal Health, and VPI® Pet Insurance, National Pet Wellness is a year-round campaign where pet owners can receive important information, tailored specifically to their pets, from their veterinarians. And, October kicks off the campaign with National Pet Wellness Month.
Thousands of veterinary clinics now participate in the initiative. The AVMA and Fort Dodge Animal Health launched National Pet Wellness Month in 2004. This year, Veterinary Pet Insurance joins as a campaign sponsor.
The National Pet Wellness initiative has emphasized disease prevention and twice-a-year wellness examinations since its inception. Educating clients about pet health insurance also fits into the initiative’s mission. Studies have shown that, on average, clients with pet health insurance schedule more veterinary visits. Insurance is available for routine wellness care as well as injuries and illnesses.
The “Pet Wellness Starts with a Plan” campaign is reaching out to pet owners through educational materials at veterinary clinics and through national public relations encouraging pet owners to contact their local veterinarian.
Thousands of pet owners are now turning to vitamin supplements as part of their disease prevention plan. FlexPet™ is an all-natural Joint Pain Supplement for pets. The primary component is CM8™ (cetyl myristoleate). Of all the ingredients in FlexPet, CM8™ is the most powerful. CM8™ functions in three different ways. First, it acts as a highly effective lubricant in the joints, muscles and other tissues, allowing them to move smoothly. Decrease or loss of morning stiffness is commonly noted shortly after commencing treatment. Next, CM8™ functions as an anti-inflammatory. Relief from swollen joints is often seen after the 4th or 5th week of treatment. Third, it is also an immune system modulator, which can be effectual against autoimmune diseases, such as arthritic conditions. CM8™ relieves joint pain at its source, reducing inflammation and irritation of the joints and tissues. All of these characteristics make CM8™ the most important ingredient in FlexPet.
Flexcin and FlexPet are proudly manufactured in the United States in a state of the art facility under the strict guidelines of the FDA’s Good Manufacturing Practices.

Flexcin is dedicated to help pets live healthier lives free of joint pain and stiffness. We are supporting Best Friends Animal Society with donations to give all pets a good life and loving home. Best Friends is giving it’s older dogs with serious Arthritis FlexPet. They have tried it at their facility and found it does wonders.
We’re even sponsoring a dog!
Meet Gramps:
There’s no one who wants to be adopted more than this old guy, Gramps. With everyone he meets, he seems to cry “Adopt me, please!” with his eyes.
He’s friendly to everyone. He loves people. He loves to be petted. And he’s fully capable of adoring other dogs as well.
The only catch with this old sweetheart is he takes medicine for his arthritis. He was found as a stray, and brought to a shelter in California, so we don’t know whether this angel has ever had a home.
The work of Best Friends is supported entirely through the donations of members, who help to ensure that animals who come into the care of Best Friends will never again be alone, hungry, sick, afraid, or in pain.
During the month of August you too can help pets in needs in many ways. One way is to sponsor a pet through Best Friends or your local shelter. Another way to show your support is with the purchase of FlexPet. Flexcin, the makers of FlexPet with CM8, will be making a donation of $25 to Best Friends Animal Society for FlexPet direct purchases. Customers who buy our FlexPet 3pk will get the gift of a Best Friends Animal Society membership which helps provide a year of quality care for an animal at the sanctuary. It also entitles members to the following:
-
A subscription to Best Friends magazine, the most popular general interest companion animal magazine in the nation.
-
Quarterly newsletters.
-
Special members-only rates for area accommodations should you or your gift recipient like to visit Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.
-
A donation made in their name.
This is one interesting story that we came a cross on the internet. Maricopa County, in Arizona, was spending approx. $18 million dollars a year on stray animals, like cats and dogs. Sheriff Joe offered to take the department over, and the County Supervisors said okay.
The animal shelters are now all staffed and operated by prisoners. They feed and care for the strays. Every animal in his care is taken out and walked twice daily. He now has prisoners who are experts in animal nutrition and behavior. They give great classes for anyone who’d like to adopt an animal. He has literally taken stray dogs off the street, given them to the care of prisoners, and had them place in dog shows.
The best part? His budget for the entire department is now under $3 million. Teresa and I adopted a Weimaraner from a Maricopa Countyshelter two years ago. He was neutered, and current on all shots, in great health, and even had a microchip inserted the day we got him. Cost us $78. The prisoners get the benefit of about $0.28 an hour for working, but most would work for free, just to be out of their cells for the day. Most of his budget is for utilities, building maintenance, etc. He pays the prisoners out of the fees collected for adopted animals.
Hydrotherapy or water therapy is great way to provide a low impact exercise for your dog, with or without joint pain. For dogs with joint pain and arthritis, regular exercise like running or walking can be painful due to the amount of weight that your dog’s joints must support. Exercise in a pool, a lake or the ocean can be a great alternative since the buoyancy of the water takes much of the strain off the joints that is normally caused by their body weight. Swimming can help your pet with range of motion, strengthening, endurance and general health.
Exercise has been proven to help pets by reducing joint pain and stiffness while increasing flexibility, muscle strength, cardiac fitness and endurance. It can also help with weight reduction which can be a cause of some joint pain.
Talk to your veterinarian if you think your pet may benefit from this type of exercise. Hydro therapy may not be an option for dogs that have a fear of water. It is also not recommended for dogs with certain fractures and open wounds.
Humans aren’t the only ones who have to deal with Arthritis. Dogs and cats are both susceptible to it as they age. Arthritis is sometimes caused by infection of the joint, but most likely it’s just due to wear and tear throughout the years. Unfortunately, pets can’t explain their symptoms, which can make it hard to diagnose in the beginning. You may notice some changes in your pet’s behavior but be unsure of the cause. Always seek the advice of your Veterinarian in case these symptoms are being caused by a different disease or infection that requires immediate treatment.
So here’s some signs to watch for and how to manage your cat’s or dog’s Arthritis pain.
Warning Signs that your Pet could have Arthritis:
- Slowed movement
- Joints are swollen or red
- Stiffness and trouble getting up from a sitting/lying position
- Pain (Flinching from petting or handling)
- Some limping
- Inability to climb stairs
- Hard time getting in and out of the litter-box
How to Treat & Manage:
- Watch your pet’s weight - Extra weight produces strain on joints, just like it does in humans. By managing your pet’s diet and lower its weight you can help the amount of stress on the joints. It can also help with combating other diseases like heart disease or diabetes.
- Massage - Massage helps increase blood flow in the muscles and that can be good for sore joints.
- Warmth and Comfort - Cold temperatures and dampness can intensify arthritis pain. Make sure your cat or dog has a warm, soft bed and stays inside while it rains or snows.
- Medicine - See your vet in case the joint pain is due to infection, in that case they may prescribe steroids or antibiotics. Caution aspirin and acetimetaphin can be dangerous for cats and some dogs with stomach problems, so don’t self-prescribe.
- Supplements - Natural supplements are a good option for cats or dogs with sensitive stomachs or who don’t react well to harsh medications.
- Exercise - You may assume that exercise will further strain the joints but it can actually help build muscles and strengthen the areas around the joint, therefore lessening the pain. It can be very challenging to get a cat exercise if they are in pain. Try a walk on a leash, even for a cat, introduce a new toy and play with your dog or cat.
Again, always seek the advice of your Veterinarian in case these symptoms are being caused by a different disease or infection that requires immediate treatment.
OK, I’m pretty happy with my family. They feed me, take me for walks, let me be the mascot of FlexPet, take me on trips and buy me lots of toys. So I wouldn’t want to give that up BUT after watching this video I am curious about this dog, Bella, and her choice of a best friend.
Maybe I need an elephant friend too! Let’s see what Mom thinks and see if she’ll get me an elephant for the backyard. This could be better than my brother Tux, who just barks at me all the time.
